Group of clients in a very complex case lost their jobs when the company closed. There were claims of unpaid wages but the record keeping was confusing, to say the least. And, no one knew if there was any money left to pay the employees. Despite these challenges we negotiated a very large sum over $300,000 from a company and its insurer post business closure.
Clients were terminated after taking medical leave. Employer believed that the medical providers were committing fraud. For some reason, they decided to terminate employees instead of go after the medical providers. Our clients maintained they had no information regarding any potential fraud by the medical providers. They were terminated from their under $10 per hour job. A few months later, we were able to negotiate a settlement that represented a few years of income for them of $225,000.
